Perfect Your Retention: Master These 3 Key Lash Techniques

Updated: Jul 31

If you’ve ever had a client message you with “they’re falling out already!”—you’re not alone. The truth? Lash retention isn’t just about the glue.

In our academy, we teach that perfect retention starts with perfect fundamentals. These 3 techniques are non-negotiables if you want your work to last (and your clients to keep coming back):

ree

1. Proper Natural Lash Isolation

Poor isolation = lashes stuck together, premature fallout, and unhappy clients. Clean, crisp isolation protects natural lash health and boosts longevity.

2. Lash Direction & Placement

It’s not just about sticking it on—it’s about where and how. Correct placement along the natural lash ensures the extension grows out smoothly without twisting or pulling.

3. Control Your Adhesive Use

Are your extensions slipping or brushing off? You might be using too much (or too little) glue—or not working with it fast enough for your environment. Understanding humidity, drying time, and dip depth = game-changer.

As a mentor to hundreds of lash artists, I see these same 3 issues over and over again—and fixing them is where the transformation truly begins.
